The red brochure released by the Instrument Processing Workgroup (AKI = Arbeitskreis Instrumenten-Aufbereitung) is a guideline for the appropriate preparation, reprocessing, handling and maintenance of medical devices (e.g. surgical instruments, endoscopes and equipment etc.).
